Moriremo Tutti Records

January 29th, 2010

Why did you start a label?

Good question. In fact, MTR exists since 1994, more or less, when I started playing noise music during my university studies, under the name of Der Einzige. I then used it to regroup the records I did also with friends (Human_Against_Hope and Norm), so I invented this name that in English means “We All Will Die Records”. In Italian sounds much better: “Moriremo Tutti Records”. Then I draw the logo (the man hanging from a tree) and I did some CD-R for friends, and later on a website.
But I never released any records until 2008, exactly in the moment when all music industry was in deep crisis and even the CD-R market is overloaded.
So maybe I found the best way to completely fail.
About in 1999, I wrote something like a manifesto, in which I don’t believe almost anymore a lot, but somehow shows our distorted poetry.

Why do you keep doing it?

Because there are projects in my mind that I’d like to realize, even if (or maybe because) thery’re weird and crazy. No matter of money lost. If possible, I like to recover the little money I invest, but it’s not so important. And I like to be listened. Honestly, most of MTR productions are self productions, in the sense that include music made by me or friend. I know Is a narrow perspective, but is not the only one.

Name 5 bands you’d love to release.

Controlled Bleeding, Sshe Retina Stimulans, If Bwana, AIDS Wolf, Torturing Nurse.
Ooops! They’re really band we’re going to release (in a forthcoming compilation).
Apart of them, maybe only the early SPK, that don’t exist anymore.

Do you accept demos, if so where?

No, not in this moment. But I often involve people in the compilation I do when they send me a demo and they’re really kind and the music is not too bad.
Believe me or not, music is not so important for MTR: it’s more a conceptual thing, in fact graphics and packagings are important as sounds, and same for the attitude of musicians.
For instance Luminous, an English guy that I involved in the CD-R with OvO, got in touch with me in a very kind and nice way, and as his music was ok, I involved him in the record. And I’m happy with that.
